Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Penguin Classics Edition

One of a kind fore-edge painted book by Mandy Howard. Three edges painted using watercolors and matte varnish. I start by clamping the pages of the book between two pieces of wood. Next I map out my drawing with watercolor pencil. I complete the painting with very light layers of watercolor paint. Due to the pressure from the clamps, paint does not seep past the edge of the page.

While the pages can still be turned, this is recommended to be purchased as a decorative addition to your personal library, rather than to be read. This is due to the fact that the oils on our hands can damage the painting over time.

*Minor discoloration on back of book from where the price tag had been adhered (see photo).
