Little Women
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, Puffin in Bloom Edition
This classic hardcover has a reimagined cover by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co.
As for the one of a kind paintings themselves, Mandy Howard begins with clamping the book between two pieces of wood, followed by mapping out the fan favorite scene of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy listening to Marmee read a letter from their father. The scene is from the 2019 Greta Gerwig movie adaptation. The final two edges were inspired by Anna Bond’s illustrations, to tie the whole book together.
Using watercolor paints and spraying each painting with matte varnish, the completed artwork is protected from dust. Due to the pressure from the clamps, the paint does not seep past the edge of the page.
While the pages can still be turned, this is recommended to be purchased as a decorative addition to your personal library, rather than to be read. This is due to the fact that the oils on our hands can damage the painting over time.
