Anne of Green Gables
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Puffin in Bloom Edition, August 28, 2014
This classic hardcover has a reimagined design by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co.
As for the one of a kind paintings themselves, Mandy Howard begins with clamping the book between two pieces of wood, followed by mapping out a scene of Anne taking in the beauty around her. The remaining two edges have artwork inspired by Anna Bond’s cover design to tie the book together. Using watercolor paints and spraying each painting with matte varnish, the completed artwork is protected from dust. Due to the pressure from the clamps, the paint does not seep past the edge of the page.
While the pages can still be turned, this is recommended to be purchased as a decorative addition to your personal library, rather than to be read. This is due to the fact that the oils on our hands can damage the painting over time.
